Taking part
When does the challenge run?
From Monday 21 September 2026 at 12:00 CEST until the end of Sunday 5 October 2026.
Only cleanups carried out and posted within this period count.
How do I get the app and join my team?
Download the Clean Something For Nothing app at https://onelink.to/twqmmp and create an account. Open your country page on this site and use the join link: it opens your KETER group in the app. Request to join. Your country team leader approves your request. Join only your own country's group.
Can I take part on my own?
Yes. Individual cleanups count. Post the cleanup in the app and tag your country's KETER group.
Several of us cleaned together. Who posts it?
One participant posts the cleanup and tags the others in the app. Duplicate posts of the same waste distort the total and will be removed.
Does a cleanup count if I am outside my country?
Yes. Wherever you clean, tag your own country's KETER group.
What if my country is not listed?
All 12 participating countries appear in the "Find your country" section. Denmark, Belgium and Portugal are each part of a combined team.
Using the app
Which parts of the app should I use?
Three: the feed, Groups and your Profile. The Challenges section of the app is not used for this challenge.
Can I organise or announce a cleanup in the app?
No. The app records cleanups that have already taken place. It does not support future cleanups or events. Organise your cleanup through your usual channels, then post it in the app once it is completed.
How do I post a cleanup?
In the app, select +. Add photographs, before and after where possible, otherwise after only. Enter the number of bags and the bag size so that the volume is calculated. Confirm the location and add a short description. Then tag your KETER group and publish.
How do I record the weight if I have no scale?
Enter the number of bags and the bag size and the app calculates the volume. Weight can be entered or adjusted manually if you have a more accurate figure.
What happens if I do not tag my group?
The cleanup will not count toward the 500 kg goal and will not appear on this website. Ask your team leader to help you edit the post and add the tag.
Safety and equipment
- Wear gloves at all times.
- Do not handle broken glass, needles, batteries, chemical containers or any unidentified item. Leave it in place and report it to the local authority.
- Wear a high visibility vest when working near traffic. Do not clean on motorways, dual carriageways or any fast road.
- Do not enter water, ditches, steep banks or private land.
- Clean in daylight, and with a colleague where possible.
- Wash your hands afterwards.
What equipment do I need?
A pair of gloves and a bag are sufficient. Check with your team leader before buying anything, as some teams have equipment available. Litter grabbers and high visibility vests are widely available from online retailers and DIY stores. Reusing bags you already have is encouraged.
What are the safety rules?
Participation is voluntary and must follow Keter's health and safety guidance.
If you are unsure whether a location is safe, do not clean there. Ask your team leader.
What do I do with the collected waste?
Dispose of it at an authorised waste point or public bin, and separate recyclable material where local rules require it. Do not leave filled bags in public spaces. Report illegal dumping, or volumes you cannot carry, to the local authority.
Results and data
When do my results appear on this website?
The website is updated once a day, at night. A cleanup posted today appears the following morning.
How does 1 kg = 1 tree work?
500 trees are included in this challenge. CSFN plants them after 5 October with its partner OneSeed. Every kilogram you collect counts toward the shared 500 kg goal.
Will my email address be visible?
No. Only your app username or first name and your cleanup totals appear publicly. Email addresses are never displayed.
Is this a competition between teams?
No. The 500 kg goal is shared by all nine teams. The country view shows each team's contribution to the same total.
